Chilliwack RCMP investigate two shootings

Chilliwack, The RCMP officers in Chilliwack  are investigating  two shootings that took place in September.  On September 20, 2014 at approximately 4:50 A.M., the Chilliwack RCMP responded to a complaint of a male that had been shot. The incident occurred in the 8100 block of Young Street. The man received serious but not life threatening injuries. The second incident occurred at approximately 5:45 P.M., at a residence in the 8900 block of Broadway. There is no indication that anyone was injured in the second incident.

The Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service, General Duty, Serious Crime Unit and the Lower Mainland District Integrated Forensic Identification Section all responded to the initial calls. We are still investigating both incidents, said Cst. Ashley St. Germaine. However, we can say that we don’t believe these to be random acts. It is unknown, at this time, if the incidents are related.

The Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit has conduct of both investigations. In an effort to protect the integrity of the investigations, police will not be releasing any further details. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
